Tyco Traffic & Transportation offers tailor-made products and services designed to suit customers with different needs. Services range from system design and integration, intersection personality programming, spare part handling and field service support for products and systems to full maintenance support for hardware and software with response times in accordance with customer requirements.

World-wide support for products and systems

Tyco is represented in over 80 countries around the world for support of its many businesses and technologies. In locations where Tyco does not have trained service and support facilities for traffic & transport, Tyco will train an approved local contractor, or if necessary train the customer themselves to carry out this maintenance work in accordance with the contractual maintenance requirements. Further specialised back-up support is also available for the local maintenance contractor to ensure reliable operation for the products or systems.

In-house expertise is available for the whole system or specific technologies including:

Replacement Spares - Tyco supports all the equipment supplied during the warranty and Defects Liability Periods. Beyond these periods, the products continue to be supported in accordance with contracts for their support. In general all Tyco hardware and software products are supported and replacement spares are available as required.

Hardware Engineering - Special hardware engineering design to complement products and services supplied is provided, subject to approval of quotes to the customer for the specific services.

Software Support - Tyco maintains the software supplied and any problems identified will be rectified with a new release of the software where appropriate. It is recommended that software products be covered by a Software Maintenance Contract, which is usually negotiated when the system is ordered. The advantage of Software Maintenance Contracts is that the customer will receive updates of the software, which will include problem fixes and new features should they become available during the course of the contract.

Software Engineering - Special software design to complement products and services supplied is provided subject to approval of quotes to the customer for the specific services.

Personality Programming Services - Intersection personality programming services are available on request. Nominal charges are applicable depending on the complexity of the intersection in question.

Training - Training for set-up, programming and operations and maintenance of the equipment supplied is available if required. The trainers have intimate knowledge of the equipment with many years experience in the industry.
